As his relationship with Petey blossoms, Finn learns that he is face-blind and can therefore not sense the faces of those around him, thus confirming why he cannot describe the man who captured Roza. Roza longs for Finn’s brother, Sean, whom she truly loves however, after Roza’s kidnapping, Sean sank into a deep depression and has yet to begin his own hunt for Roza. Meanwhile, Roza is trapped in an alternate dimension with her evil captor who claims she is the most beautiful woman in the world and thus must spend her life with him. Throughout the novel, Finn finds love in his developing relationship with Priscilla “Petey” Willis, while continuing his own personal search for Roza. One day, Roza is suddenly captured by a mysterious man with Finn as her only witness however, no one believes Finn’s rendition of the abduction and the town ceases to search for Roza.
